?CATS HOLD OFF HAWKS FOR FIELD HOCKEY WIN

FIELD HOCKEY
MOUNTAIN VIEW 2, BROOKE POINT 1 (STROKES)
After regulation and overtime finished tied, Mountain View goalie Caitlyn Nolan made four saves in strokes, and the Wildcats converted twice, to escape with a 2?1 Commonwealth District field hockey win against visiting Brooke Point on Tuesday.
Emily Reinwald and Bailey McCarthy made their shots in the tiebreaker to keep Mountain View unbeaten (15?0).
Caity Maffia gave the Wildcats a 1?0 lead in the first half before Rachael Payne tied it with a first-half penalty stroke for the Black?Hawks (10?5).
Morgan Skavdahl and Bryce Barnes led the defense for the Wildcats, who visit Stafford on Thursday.
Goalie Maddie Davis made 18 saves, while Payne, Kate Kennedy and Caitlin Flinn (two) made defensive saves for Brooke Point, which visits Albemarle on Thursday.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, MASSAPONAX 2 (OT)
Ashley Vastano scored two minutes into overtime off an Amy Dziekowicz assist to give the homestanding Eagles a Commonwealth District victory.
Megan Eastman and Kate Roberts also scored for Colonial Forge (11?4), with Vastano and Dziekowicz providing assists. Olivia Strobel had two saves in goal and Tenay Greene was strong on defense.
Kelly McNult scored both of the Panthers? goals and Jordan Hildebrand contributed an assist.
The Eagles play their last regular-season game against North Stafford on Thursday.

STAFFORD 7, ORANGE 1
Kenly Belman and Cassie Hooghouse each had two goals to pace the Indians over the host Hornets in Commonwealth District action.
McKenzie Bowler, Natalie Bohmke and Elizabeth Brownell also scored for Stafford. Bowler and Audrey Braxton contributed two assists each, while Bohmke and Gail Podlesny had one apiece.
Stafford (12?3) ends its regular season with a home game against Mountain View on Thursday.

RIVERBEND 2, ALBEMARLE 1
Haley McMahon scored twice, assisted each time by Lauren Liberman, to help Riverbend get a Commonwealth District home win.
Molly Fontenot, Sophie Boothby, Taylor Sullivan and Destiny Morris played solid defense for the Bears (6?9), who visit Massaponax on Thursday.

FREDERICKSBURG ACADEMY 8,
FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 0

Meghan Norair tallied four goals and Carolyn Topps provided two assists to help Fredericksburg Academy get a Delaney Athletic Conference win against visiting Fredericksburg Christian.
Colleen Norair, Amanda Fennell, Catherine Estes and Kirstie Harry also scored for the Falcons (10?1, 5?0), who host Highland on Friday.

LOUISA 4, POWHATAN 0
Serena Hutchins scored twice and Kate Chisholm contributed two assists to help Louisa earn a Jefferson District win.
Emily Boyle and Amber Baker also scored, while Kelsey Stanley (two saves) and Maddie Morales shared the shutout in goal for the Lions (3?11), who host Charlottesville on Thursday.

FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 3,

Ashlee Middleton doled out 27 assists to help homestanding Fredericksburg Christian get a 25?16, 25?9, 26?24 nonconference win.
Gabby Vess added 11 kills for the Eagles (11?7), who host Christchurch next Tuesday.

Tori Larned and Anna Haynes each had seven kills and six blocks to help Mountain View get a 25?12, 25?22, 25?20 Commonwealth District home win.
Katy Garrity added 35 assists, Taylor Fernow six kills, and Sarah Weisband six aces and six kills for the Wildcats (4?11 district), who visit Stafford on Thursday.
Stephanie Buccola had nine digs, four kills and three aces, and Desiree Claxton added nine kills and seven digs for the Black?Hawks (12?6, 8?6), who visit Albemarle on Thursday.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, MASSAPONAX 0
Brooke Sanders had 15 assists and seven kills, and Maddie Scovell provided 11 digs and eight kills for Colonial Forge in a 25?23, 25?23, 25?11 Commonwealth District home win.
Other leaders for the Eagles (17?7, 13?1) were Hope Kelley with 10 digs and six kills, Nori Thomas with six kills, Pressley Maghan with 16 assists, and Jenna Ulizio with 10 digs.
Rachel Jankovits totaled 11 digs and seven kills, and Colleen Beach added six blocks and two kills for the Panthers (11?10, 6?8).
On Thursday, Colonial Forge visits North Stafford and Massaponax hosts Riverbend.

STAFFORD 3, ORANGE 2
India Kithcart had 10 kills to help Stafford rally from a deficit to get a 9?25, 25?18, 10?25, 25?16, 15?8 Commonwealth District win.
Haley Parish posted six kills for the Indians (7?11, 3?11), who host Mountain View on Thursday.

SPOTSYLVANIA 3, KING GEORGE 0
Calli Stott drilled nine kills and Katie Graham eight kills as the Knights swept the homestanding Foxes 25?21, 25?11, 25?16 for a Battlefield District win.
Graham added 12 digs, while Taylor Sale made seven blocks and four kills, and Caitlin Chmielewski recorded 25 assists and four aces for Spotsylvania (9?2, 9?7), which travels to Culpeper on Thursday.
Leaders for the Foxes were Lea Howard had nine assists, 10 blocks and two aces; Carley Armentrout with four kills, one block and four digs and great passing for the Foxes.

EASTERN VIEW 3, CAROLINE 0
Krystal Mountjoy had 19 digs, and Ayana Clayton added nine assists, eight digs and three kills for visiting Caroline, but Eastern View was able to get a 25?22, 25?19, 25?20 Battlefield District win.
Blake Seal supplied five aces, four digs, two blocks and two kills for the Cavaliers (4?11, 2?9), who host King George on Thursday.

BOYS SOCCER
FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 4,
RANDOLPH?MACON 0

David Schools, Moziah Ferguson, Brandon Chang and Alex Garner each scored in Fredericksburg Christian?s Delaney Athletic Conference win.
The Eagles? defense played well, as the team secured its eighth win of the season.

CULPEPER 4, CAROLINE 0
Visiting Caroline lost a Battlefield District game called early in the second half due to weather. Senior midfielder Chandler Moison led the Cavaliers in shots on goal and goalie Paige Simulcik record 20-plus saves.
